Research shows that AVE can effectively and quickly dissociate, guide the brain into various brainwave states, increase neurotransmitter production, and increase cerebral blood flow.
The Delight sessions are supported by the most current research studies in the areas of stress reduction, insomnia, improved mood, mental sharpness, reduced worry, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and improvements in concentration and memory in college students. The Delight sessions also include our proprietary randomization process, which helps encourage dissociation and brain frequency tracking to the stimulus, to ensure you the best results.
We recommend using the Energize, Brain Booster, and Mood Booster sessions earlier in the day as they are quite stimulating and can interfere with trying to get to sleep if you use them too late in the day.
Let’s take a look at how you could use the different categories of sessions to improve your quality of life while attending college or university.
Energize – Hate those 8 am classes? These sessions are great for getting you going in the morning and can help you reduce coffee intake. You can set your alarm for half an hour earlier than you normally get up, put on the session, headphones or earbuds, eyeset, and go back to sleep until your next alarm goes off.
Meditate – The Meditate sessions are great for when you need to take a power nap or a good rest. They put you into a deeply relaxed state of mind to get you to calm down, relax, and refocus. Can also be used during a break between classes. The more relaxed a person is during the day, the easier to fall asleep at night. Studies on mindfulness meditation show it to be effective for stress reduction.
Brain Booster – The Brain Brightening sessions are great for sharpening your mind for concentration, memory, and attention. SMR/Beta is also great to use if you have had a brain injury in the past. ADHD? Try Brain Booster 2.
Sleep – The Sleep sessions help you get to sleep if your brain is too racy and you can’t turn off your thoughts. If you have trouble falling asleep, we recommend using the multicolor eyeset and putting blue light on the left fields and green light on the right fields. This will help with onset of sleep, getting into a deeper sleep, and staying asleep all night. You can also use your own good quality stereo earbuds to make sleeping more comfortable. Once you start your sleep session, you can also put the device and all the cords above or beside your pillow to keep them out of the way. It is okay to fall asleep with them on. You may wake up and take them off or find them still on in the morning.
Feeling Better – The Feeling Better sessions help reduce negative feelings and thoughts to help you feel happier and more joyful. If students are homesick or feeling blue, this can also help.
We recommend everyone (especially newbies) drink a big glass of water 15 to 20 minutes before running a session and choose the Meditate 1 session for their first experience. For more guidance on which sessions to use, there is a symptom questionnaire in the AVE User Guide.
You can sync your favorite calming music with the pulsing tones to hear both through your headphones. You can use meditative music, nature music, or even hypnosis tracks. Skip Aerosmith or Screamo unless you are using an Energize session.
AVE will increase alpha brainwaves. Alpha production above 10 Hz is associated with better than average academic performance.
In order to be able to concentrate and retain information during studying, we need high performance brainwave activity.
To have better concentration in the morning, we recommend the SMR/Beta session such as Brain Booster 1. Then in the afternoon run an alpha session such as Meditate 1 to improve memory. AVE reduced fatigue and improved memory. The control group results actually showed their memory decreased in the afternoon.
